Casino Addict Files Multi-million Lawsuit against Australian Crown Casino

An Australian casino gambler who lost millions of dollars in Melbourne's Crown Casino recently filed a lawsuit claiming that the managers of the casino had lured him to the gaming facility with VIP treatment. According real estate developer Harry Kakavas, he has spent as much as A$1.4 billion while gambling at Crown's Baccarat tables.

Kakavas is a casino addict. He has been banned from land-based gambling venues all across Australia for years. The plaintiff is now suing Crown Casino for A$50 million damages, alleging he has documents to prove he was enticed to lose the aforementioned amount of money.

Following Kakavas' lawsuit, Crown's CEO Rowen Craigie and COO John Williams face accusations of unconscionable conduct. If Kakavas ultimately succeeds in proving his claims, Crown Casino could be judged to have violated Australia's Trade Practices Act, state gambling regulations as well as Australian law concerning the operation of high-profile casinos.
