Hardways Work Unless a gambler calls them off, should always be called by stickman during Come-Out roll to remind players that hardway wagers are at risk.
Hawking the Dice When the dealer looks at the dice after being rolled to the opposite end of the table. Dealers are supposed to watch their ends of a table all of the time to maximize player service and protect the game.
Hi-Lo A one-roll wager on 2 and 12.
Hi-Lo-Yo A one-roll wager on 2, 11 and 12.
Hit a Brick Occasionally declared by a stickman when a die hits a stack of gambling chips and doesn't roll to the end of the table.
Hook Gambler positions 4 & 5 near the corner of either end of the table. Commonly referred to as an Inside Hook or Outside Hook.
Hop Bet A gamble that the subsequent roll will result in a particular combination of the dice. For examples: 2-2 (also a "hopping hardway") or 3-5. 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, and 5-5 are paid the same as a one-roll 2; other hop bets are paid like a one-roll 11.
Horn Bet A wager that the following roll will be 2, 3, 11, or 12, accomplished in multiples of four, with one unit on each of the numbers.
Horn High bet A wager placed in multiples of 5 with 1 unit on 3 of the horn numbers and 2 units on the "high" number (12). "$5 horn high 11": $1 each on 2, 3, 12, & $2 on the 11.
Hot Table A table where players are winning. These players are typically placing passline, come and/or place bets.
House Bank Gambling chips stacked up between the dealers and in front of the boxman. Used for paying off winning bets or color-ins.
