Luck for Sale
Some folks will pay anything to achieve that winning advantage whether it's "how to" books, gambling lessons, seminars, private coaches, and oops, lest we forget those memorization courses! And while Americans shelled out an estimated $100 billion (that's right, billion!) on wagers last year, subsequent millions were ‘invested' in any and every method, device and magic spell promising good fortune for those unfortunate non-winners. (No one likes to be called a loser.)
The truth is some online casino games such as Blackjack and Poker do entail some elements of skill. Others, like Roulette & Craps however, do not. The latter are merely games of chance and regardless of how much time, energy, money and prayer (TEMP) you invest trying to beat the odds, the odds against you winning are still greater. Deal with it.
But don't lose hope just yet; some games are believed to be ‘beatable.' For example, a shrewd player utilizing an effective strategy can mathematically foresee a positive or negative outcome. These ‘Beatables' comprise Progressive Slots, Blackjack (counting cards), Pai Gow Poker, Video Poker, plus sports betting and horse racing.
Alternatively, ‘unbeatable' games wherein players will eventually lose in the long run, include Roulette, Baccarat, Craps and Keno. Perhaps the wisest strategy for winning at these games is recognizing when you have just been plain lucky and quitting before squandering all you reaped. Always keep in mind: Lady Luck may flirt with you, but she ain't settling down with anybody soon.
Supernaturally there will always be a demand for mystical and spiritual solutions for improving your chances of winning, and as luck would have it, these will also cost you. Depending on your budget, this sort of luck can be yours for as low as a buck for a plastic lucky rabbit's foot from the dollar store (the plastic rabbit wasn't so lucky), to as much as a hundred dollars an hour to listen to GiGi the Gambling Guru of no fixed address bamboozle a crowd of desperados on how to reach jackpot heaven by:
a) downing a magic potion (turns out the ingredients match those used for making MDMA/ecstasy), and
b) MapQuest
While some fortunate few always seem to come up lucky without doing as much as even crossing their fingers, there appears to be no limit on how much cash folks will fork over for anything that will enhance their luck, including divine providence. One thing's a sure bet though, at the end of the day, is night. Lucky for us, casino games can be played at night as well.
