William Hill releases good figures and looks forward to World Cup

During last August and September, the lack of drawn football matches in the English Premiership saw its figures below average for the time of year, and the recent bad weather in England has led to many sports events being cancelled. But things are looking better with the release of its latest figures, and the World Cup is going to provide a good boost later this year. England recently included race meetings being called off and football matches being postponed. This was obviously detrimental to the bookmaker, but the prospect of the World Cup later in the year has meant that things should balance out throughout 2010.
The problems faced by the snow in
The fourth quarter gross win margins up to the end of December were 17-18 percent, which is more normal for the time of year. Now it is expecting its full earnings to be about £250 million. This news saw the shares in William Hill rise 9.2p up to 194.8p.
At the same time, William Hill Online has also seen its full-year earnings up by 35 percent. The World Cup in the summer will also be an opportunity to see just how successful the new venture that has been jointly launched with Playtech will be.
