WMS Gaming to launch UK online gambling venture

WMS Gaming, the sot machine giant from the United States, has just announced its plans to get involved in the UK online gambling scene. The company, which is licensed to sell slot machines in over 300 jurisdictions across the world, wants to enter into lots of regulated markets, starting with the UK.

WMS Gaming is part of WMS Industries, which is based in Illinois. Its drive to enter into more regulated markets will see it launch its UK operation next year. It has also unveiled plans to launch in Italy, France and Spain when regulation permits it.

It has already started its recruitment campaign for staff in the UK, and is searching for premises in central London. It is hoping to hire about 25 people in the technical, marketing, and customer services fields. It already has offices in Uxbridge in the UK, as well as in Canada, Spain, South Africa, and Australia.

Brian Morgan, the executive director of online gaming for the company, is quoted in EGRMagazine as saying "We are the leaders in casino innovation and we want to leverage that insight online," adding that they will "only trade in markets where e-gaming is expressly legal," and that the company was planning to "expand market by market."
