Dead - When there are no gamblers at a table.
Dealer - Person responsible for all the wagers made on his/her half of the table. When wanting to place free odds, place, or a lay bet at the craps table, players give their money to the dealer at their end of the table where he/she will position their bet for them.
Dice are in the Middle - When dice are entered into a game by the stickman & placed above the Proposition Bets and before the Boxman. This is when players place their bets.
Dime - Dealer's slang for two $5 gambling chips.
Don't Come Bet - A "virtual don't pass bet"; a wager placed following the Come Out Roll.
Don't Pass Bet - A wager that the dice will not pass. This wager may be placed only right before a "come out" roll. One result (either the two or the 12, depends on the casino) will result in a push. House edge on these wagers is 1.40 percent. A Don't Pass bet may be taken down, but not made bigger after the come-out roll.
Double odds - An odd bet which is approximately twice the size of the original pass/come bet. Various casinos offer greater odds, like 5X & even 10X odds.
Down Behind - Generally called by the dealer to inform a Don't bettor that his/her bet lost.
Down the Middle (also Straight Out) - Generally refers to Player Position #6 at the center of either ends of a table.
Down With Odds - Generally called & executed by the dealer when paying off a gambler Place Bet & moving Same Player Come Bet onto a particular number. This ensures that a player is COVERED on a specific number.
Downtown Odds - Better odds (pay offs) on Proposition Bets, Place Bets on 6, 8 and Field as awarded in most downtown Las Vegas casinos.
Drop - The casino's cash take over the course of a shift at an individual table. The boxman's responsible for keeping track as bettors cash into a game in exchange for gambling chips.
