UIGEA Time-line

In September 2006, the US Congress voted for the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) effectively prohibiting banks & credit card companies form transferring funds to and from online gambling casino sites, poker rooms, bingo sites, and other Internet-based gambling establishments. The UIGEA (slipped in with the Safe Ports Act) was signed in to law by President George Bush on October 13, 2006 and, in the aftermath of the speedy legislation, numerous events have since rocked the annual $12 billion-dollar online gambling industry.

In our constant effort to ensure that you ‘our reader’ is kept better informed, the CasinoMaze.com News Department is pleased to provide the following sequence of legal and political events occurring in the United States and around the world as a direct result of the USA’s prohibition forbidding American residents from gambling online.
