Las Vegas
If you're into gambling, or considering getting into it, and hope to experience that true casino rush, there's perhaps no better place than magnificent Las Vegas, especially if you are already in the States (or in nearby Canada or Mexico).
What's truly interesting about Sin City, as it is also commonly known, is that although Las Vegas began as a Mecca for gamblers, over time the city has morphed into a wider-ranging entertainment centre featuring the greatest acts in the world, superb restaurants, exclusive bars and clubs, plus amazing shopping, both on and off the ‘Strip'.
All gambled out for now and need a change of scene? How about a couple of exciting rides now available at many themed casinos? You'll also find plenty of fun just outside the city, such as hiking at the Grand Canyon, helicopter rides and more.
Doing Vegas
Besides casino games there is, in fact, an endless array of activities for the entire family including some of the hottest live performances in the entire universe. Catch live concerts by Barry Manilow, Celine Dion, or catch a memorable show by Cirque de Soleil, Blue Man Group and many other fabulous acts. Make sure to review current show schedules beforehand as these could change without notice.
Food Glorious Food
Not surprisingly, Las Vegas has produced some of the greatest restaurants in all of the United States. With each new mega-resort developed come new dining establishments featuring top chefs from all around the globe. But fear not; this doesn't mean you will not be able to find any of those old steak houses or buffets for which Vegas is also famous; you will. Nowadays, however, the variety of dining choices in Vegas has exploded to the point of satisfying virtually all appetites and budgets.
Shopping
In addition to the ever-present tourist & Elvis Presley memorabilia outlets, visitors these days are often surprised by just how wonderful the shopping has become in Vegas. Much like some of the world's most famous shopping cities, like Manhattan, Paris, London etc., today's Las Vegas is home to some of the world's finest stores including Cartier, Yves St-Laurent and Caesars' fabulous Forum Shops. Over at the Aladdin you can even discover what travelling the North African trade routes were like. Or treat yourself to a delightful stroll along a Venice canal at the Venetian. Inside the casinos, souvenirs and gifts etc. are very stylish and though typically more expensive than outside the casinos where you can find Elvis clocks along with every other tacky souvenir conceivable.
