Where's the word ‘casino' come from?
The word ‘casino' is derived from the Italian word ‘casa' - which initially referred to a country-styled house. Afterwards, the Italians commenced using the word as a reference to venues used for community gatherings and activities such as dancing, musical performances, and gambling. Before long, gambling's popularity over-took that of all the other social pastimes. The word ‘casino' ultimately evolved into an exclusive reference to gambling establishments.
